The staff at IFTS are big on having goals. Goals give direction in day to day life. The goal can be something simple or very complex, but the goal needs to be achievable and realistic. For example, in tennis we have short, mid and long term goals. Short term goals are tackled over a week to three months. Mid term goals, six to 12 months or so and long term goals take anything over a year to reach.
Goals are important to give you direction and something to strive for. Simple goals might be to improve diet, concentrate more during sessions and class etc. These goals are common because they are achievable. More complex goals might include buying a house or travelling the world. The building blocks required for short and mid term goal success are essential to achieving the complex goals.
It is important to reflect on your goals and either raise the bar higher if you are achieving these goals or set the bar lower if you find the goals are unrealistic.
Goals will give you control over your life and make you strive to be the best person you can be.
