Step 1 – Complete an online enquiry form
If you are interested in considering IFS as a potential school for your son or daughter, you will need to complete an online enquiry form. Once we receive this enquiry you will receive a confirmation email of your registration on our enquiry list. Depending on when you are requesting potential entry into our school, you will be contacted to arrange either a K-2 assessment or a Years 3-12 trial day. Two previous school reports will be required prior to booking a trial day. Reports can be emailed directly to our Enrolment Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Step 2 – Trial Day
A trial day (Years 3 to 12) sees potential students spend a full day at our school.
The trial day includes a minimum of 3 exams including writing, comprehension and maths as well as your chosen training session in either football or tennis.
Lunch is provided during the day from our own IFS Cafe.
Please note, there is no cost to participate in a trial day.
The following documents need to be provided for trial days.
– a current photo (passport size)
– a copy of your child’s birth certificate
Parents will receive an enrolment pack at the trial day which includes an enrolment contract.
Step 3 – Trial day results & Enrolment offers
After the interview or trial day, the school management team will meet (within 48 hours) and make decisions about which potential students would be best suited for our school environment. Our Enrolment Officer will then contact each candidate informing them of their results and the decision that has been made regarding their application.
Unsuccessful applicants will be informed of why they were unsuccessful and a future trial can be booked if it is the best way forward for the child.
Successful applicants will be sent a confirmation email of their enrolment offer with an invitation to proceed to the next stage of the enrolment process which is to book an enrolment meeting.
Step 4 – Enrolment Meeting
An enrolment meeting is for the parent/s to meet with our Enrolment Officer to hand in the completed enrolment contract, pay the entrance fee, discuss school travel arrangements, uniform fitting (depending on start date) and many more aspects of school entry.
Student are placed based on the academic results from the testing as well as their willingness to learn, self motivation and being an independent learner. Other academic evidence such as reports and other school assessments may also be used at the discretion of the management team.
Students are placed based on their passion for their sport, ability to be coached, self motivation and a willingness to actively participate.
Disability, Medical Condition and Behaviour disorder
Special consideration will be given to students with disability, medical conditions and behaviour disorders in order to ascertain if the school can adequately meet the needs of the individual student. It is important to note that our school does not have a learning support unit which may come into consideration at the discretion of the management team.
The school reserves the right to withdraw an offer made if new information comes to light regarding a potential candidate that may have resulted in a different decision during the enrolment process. The school also reserves the right to make additional offers outside of the above timing depending on availability of places in the school and timeliness of enquiries.
